Here are some helpful hints: Clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For newlypainted walls let paint "thouroughly dry" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may continue to need to settle and totallycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not advised on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile providing the surface is clean and absolutelydry during application. Be sure the design element does not overlap grout region as water couldleak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are positionedtightly onto the surface so watercan'tget under the design element. Once applied, RoomMates won'tmove even if sprayed by shower. Vinyl wall decals must not be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they shouldn't be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. Also, do notplace at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could seepbeneath the wall decal too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When applying, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element separate from the wall/surface. Gradually go down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto area (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once placed you ought to be able to shift any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the issuecontinues (this would solelyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a tiny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out. In all, it is alwaysmost effective to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface area is uneven, effectiveness could be significantlyreduced. Ensure that surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may compromise the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. |
