Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was launched on November 10th, 2009 and had among the heaviest introductions I can even bear in mind! I did not go out in the midnight introduction, but I went out on opening day and was there 3 hours in advance of launch in the daytime and there were undoubtedly 20+ folks hanging there. Just after a half hour to forty-five minutes, I finally accepted my copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 system and off I went to spend the majority of my week ranking up as rapidly as I could. So just before I begin, I just want to express that I'm an enormous fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to help keep this review from the view of a person who has not played any of the Call of Duty games or someone who did not like the previous game titles in the Call of Duty series. I wouldnt consider myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was motivated on buyingModern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was publicized. As the majority of you undoubtedly are aware of, I seldom actually spend money on video games that really do not come with some form of multi-player and in most cases will only spend money on game titles for its multi-player factor, but I did actually engage in the whole single player campaign in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and I ought to say that I did enjoy it even while playing through a second time. The story was consistent, it was just a little complex at times, but it tied in rather clearly with exactly where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and offered resolutions to a good number of unanswered concerns. The only real thing I really didnt like about the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it had been pretty straightforward for the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I didnt say at all times, given that that's definitely not true, there were times where I got really aggravated simply because there were just so many enemies at once on each and every side and it made me extremely aggravated, but other than that, the single player campaign was relaxing and also a refreshing new game to play through. As far as the controller layout goes, it truly is precisely the same as in Call of Duty 4 and it most definitely was great for that video game and is nevertheless completely flawless now. So far as Im concerned, the control scheme alternatives in COD4 and MW2 are the most effective layouts that have ever been set together for any video game. There are a couple of other layouts that you can choose from and pretty much all of those control schemes are fantastic as well. Some of the optional layouts take just a little while to get accustomed to, but as soon as you are used to the new control scheme, youre godly! Now comes the section that you all have been holding out for! My thoughts on the multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in more than 360 hours of online performance, I believe I can give a rather good overview of what its all about. For the most part, almost everything is much better balanced. The maps are laid out okay, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work properly. This being said, there are always negatives to go together with the positives. Now, dont get me completely wrong here, I am not going to go over every thing that is suitable in this online game, since it would take too long. Instead, Im intending to try and go over some of the main weak spots inside of the online element of this online game, for the simple reason that I feel this would be much more valuable to possible buyers and/or past owners. Here we go, lets get started now relating to the negative elements. As far as I am concerned, 1 man army is the only real questionable perk. On its own, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it can be fairly useful based on your predicament, but implemented within the hands, it may be utilized in an particularly aggravating way that can make any person aspire to just smash their controller until the pieces discontinue soaring. Next up, we have death streaks. To just be up front and truthful, getting rewarded for dying, in my opinion, is just inane. There really should be no need for this if the spawn system was efficiently thought through, which, sadly, it most certainly is not, but if you are using death streaks for anything but to combat the inferior spawn process, then you have no excuse, you are a noob. On that note, I may as well touch over the spawn structure being as I already opened that can of worms. While not getting into an enormous rant, basically the spawn process works nicely in most circumstances, but on the occasion, it functions just about as nicely as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It does not assist you whatsoever, it brings about you violent aggravation, and it can make you want to drop your console out the window of a three story or higher structure. I am rather certain that this is pretty much all I have to say about that, merely because if you have played a reasonable number of online games and game varieties, you know exactly what Im talking about. Just one other issue that operates just like that, would be the matchmaking process. The online game automatically decides what lobby it is going to set you in. This means, you could be put inside a room which has 8 seconds left within game and it is practically not possible for you to win. This basically maddens me to no end. There is no easier method to wreck my enthusiasm to just take it easy and engage in some Modern Warfare 2 then when I fire it up and enter a game on a team that has been just getting it handed to them. Its not fun in any way, in reality, most of the time if this happens I will just shut the Playstation 3 off right then and there and do something other than that. So far as weapons go, they're very considerably balanced now. In the beginning there was a massive argument in regards to the model 1887s, but thanks to all the complainers, they got nerfed and now are about just as fantastic as hurling a rock at another person. In terms of the other areas of the weapons go, they're all exceptionally effective and if you dont respond rapidly, you will die without even understanding what transpired. I imagine this concludes the small argument relating to the multiplayer part of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and if you wish to know any more related to it, just spend money on it, because it is most unquestionably deserving of the funds. |
